Busy on slackware-current

Posted in news, slackware 11 on March 30, 2007 by slackit

Sorry for lack of updates, I was busy in recompiling all my packages after installation of slackware-current, ’cause the new toolchain (glibc 2.5, gcc 4.1.2) is not compatible with slackware 11.

I’m still thinking what to do with this site, option are:

  • Switch SlackBuilds for current
  • Rewrite them for slackware 11 (not much work really, maybe some configure option, kde path that switched from /opt/kde to /usr and xorg paths ). In this case SlackBuilds would be untested and I’m not sure if I want that…

Stay tuned.

Pat, on St. Patrick’s day has updated the -current changelog, see here for a nice surprise 🙂 .

Changelog #2

Posted in news, packages, slackware 11 on March 5, 2007 by slackit

Changelog for my SlackBuilds, these features will apply to SlackBuilds posted after this post.

  • Added support for .tgz sources, overall supported source type:
    • bz2
    • gz
    • zip
    • tgz
  • Cosmetic changes: suppressed stdin output (stderr still visible for debugging) and added bash messages to control the script flow, now it’s more user-friendly, less “tech” and annoying 🙂 .
  • Changed condition under which requiredbuilder is launched: now it is “if don’t exist slack-required”.

So sorry but the link to the file k9copy.tar.bz2 was broken. Now fixed in the post, too.

Shiny new blog/site I hope that soon or later this will be useful for all the slackers out there…

Due to disk space constraints (50 MB here on wordpress.com) I will provide a link to a tar.gz containing slack-desc and [application].SlackBuild that downloads the source, builds the package , generates a slack-required file if you have requiredbuilder installed if it does not already exist (edited march 5th, 2007) and copies itself in the /usr/doc/[application] -[version] directory.
